Private dining & evening events at Padstow Seafood School

Previous students tell us that a day at our cookery school is thoroughly rewarding. In the evening we offer a choice of private dinner parties, with the option of a demonstration or a ‘cook your own’ dinner party.

Dinner party

The school is perfect for special occasions. The dining area has lovely views over the Camel estuary which usually sets the scene for a lovely evening. The menu is designed for lovers of good food, five courses plus coffee and petit fours. Wine to accompany the evening can be chosen from our wine list.
Group size: 16 - 18
Menu: £ 70 per person.

Dinner party with a demonstration

The first course of the dinner party menu will be demonstrated by one of our school chefs and then served as canapés as you mingle.

Menu: £ 75 per person

‘Cook your own’ dinner party

On arrival each of the guests are given a chefs jacket and apron to wear. Our chefs will demonstrate the first dish followed by a practical session by the guests. There will be two further demonstration and practical dishes, the third being the main course where the guests can sit round the large dining table and enjoy their hard work. Side orders, dessert and coffee will be supplied. Each of the guests will be given a recipe folder to take away. There is no need for any practical skills as we will provide all the tuition required. Wine to accompany the evening can be chosen from our wine list.

Menu 1
Deep fried tempura of plaice with spring onion and chilli seasoning
Char-grilled tuna with guacamole
Grilled red mullet with an aubergine and pesto salad
Tiger prawn and squid risotto
Roasted turbot with a sauce vierge
Panna cotta with poached seasonal fruits
Coffee and petit fours

Menu 2
Tempura of shellfish with dipping sauce
Stir fried salt and pepper squid with red chilli and spring onion
Half shell lobster thermidor
Seafood in a crab and ginger broth
Roast rack of lamb with crushed potatoes and slowly caramelised garlic
Passion fruit tart with crème fraiche
Coffee and petit fours

Menu 3
Tempura of prawns with dipping sauce
Seared scallops with Iberico ham
John Dory with char-grilled leeks, soft boiled eggs and mustard vinaigrette
Crab linguini
Grilled lightly smoked sirloin steak with chive and black peppercorn butter and pommes coq d’or
Pear bourdaloue with pouring cream
Coffee and petit fours
