Special Ingredients

These are the delis that endeavour to find foods that will never be seen in supermarkets; often, foods from artisan producers working on a small scale. Some of them have a real sense of place in the regional produce they stock, some sell exotic and unusual foods from further afield. There are also specialist shops that demonstrate a passion for one type of product – spice shops offering a bewildering range of spices from every part of the world, or off-licenses stocking artisan ciders and whiskies from tiny distilleries.
