The Cornish Arms
"We're very happy tenants of The Cornish Arms, in the village of St Merryn, just outside of Padstow. Their beers have improved massively over the last few years mostly down to head brewer, Roger Ryman, Tribute, Tinners, HSD and Proper Job, these are some really special cask ales. I'm also working on a couple of recipes to go with their bottled beer, Clouded Yellow will be a great alternative to our own beer with food Chalky's Bark and Chalky's Bite." Rick Stein
British pub food
Based on Rick’s famous recipes and overseen by head chef Alex Clark, the pub offers a simple British pub menu, with dishes like real beef burgers, mussels and chips and scampi in the basket.
The pub also serves some of St Austell Brewery’s best ales like Tribute, Trelawney and Proper Job and a great selection of wines are available by the bottle and glass.
Beer & Mussel Festival - 21st & 22nd March 2015
Join us for our annual Beer & Mussel Festival - a weekend of freshly cooked mussels, Cornish & British beers, live music, comedy and entertainment for children.
Our food heroes
Whether it is fish from Matthew Stevens & Son, meat from Warrens in Launceston or cream from Roddas, we use the best, local and Cornish produce. As well as selecting great suppliers, we make our own homemade bread, jams, patisserie products and more. We're proud to proactively seek out our food heroes.
During the winter the pub is the perfect retreat with a log fire and cosy bar. Winter also sees the return of fish Friday night, Saturday curry night and our famous Sunday roast.
Large beer garden
In summer you can enjoy the Cornish sunshine in the large beer garden whilst watching the world go by.
Look out for the Beer & Mussel Festival in March and for live bands, special events and offers throughout the year.
Large car park
All dogs are welcome in the pub but please keep them on their leads.
Please note: we welcome children of all ages at The Cornish Arms.
