Our Café in Padstow has something for everyone – light lunches, relaxed dinners, coffee and cake.
Our informal, family friendly café with atmospheric Cornish charm provides a relaxing pause in the middle of Padstow from breakfast until late.
The menu features locally sourced produce and the freshest fish, combined to create simple dishes inspired by Rick’s travels around the world – especially the Far East. His salt and pepper prawns, for example, have been a mainstay on the menu ever since he bought the recipe back from Hong Kong in the 90s.
Our full menu is available all day or join us before 10:30am for a proper breakfast. Enjoy some peace and quiet during the hustle and bustle of summer with a glass of something cold in our dog-friendly courtyard.
BREAKFAST IS BACK
Start your day with the beloved tradition of breakfast here in Padstow, enjoy the simple pleasures of catching up with friends or perusing the morning paper in quiet corner. Choose from our renowned full English, featuring Rick’s personal recipe for sausages, fluffy pancakes with streaky bacon and lashings of maple syrup or try something different like Rick’s spicy take on scrambled eggs, all complemented by a selection of smoothies, freshly baked pastries and the rich aroma of Cornish roasted coffees.
“Having a small child means the days of a lazy brunch are over, which I don’t mind, I’ve always been a breakfast sort of chap. It must be a black coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, a full English with black pudding and then a smoothie or ginger shot to kid myself that I’m being healthy.” – Charlie
All the eggs used in our restaurants, whether boiled, scrambled, fried, poached, or baked, come from St. Ewe Free Range Eggs, based right here in Cornwall. Renowned for their multi-award-winning free-range eggs with a distinctively rich, vibrant yolk, St. Ewe have been farming for over 40 years, prioritising family values and nutrition. Every single St. Ewe egg comes from a content free-ranging hen, enjoying ample space to forage and roam in clean, fresh air.
Curry and beer lunch £19.95
If you’re a fan of Rick’s curries, and a cold beer of course, then our new weekday lunch special is the perfect excuse to catch up with friends in the heart of Padstow.
Try Rick’s sag paneer from his travels in India, paired with Verdant’s Lightbulb extra pale ale. Thirst quenching and totally addictive, it’s refreshing and dry with a subtle bitterness and biscuity flavour. A delicious and well-balanced beer that is well matched for our sag paneer. We think that’s a rather lovely lunch.
“This is a common vegetable dish in northern India. It is designed to be made with any leafy, spinach-like vegetable, of which there are many in the early morning markets in the Punjab. Over here, spinach is the obvious choice.” – Rick
12pm – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday until 22nd March.
