5 things to do at the Padstow Christmas Festival
24th Nov 2015
1. Watch Father Christmas and the lantern procession
Wrapped in your cosy hat and woolly scarf, watch Father Christmas on a horse drawn Victorian bus and see his lantern helpers parade through Padstow on Friday 4th December at 6pm. With the added carol singers and live music, this festive spectacle is one not to miss.
2. Observe the fantastic firework display
With the sound of crackles, sizzles and bangs from launching fireworks, a stunning display will light up the dark night sky of Padstow. Taking place on Friday 4th December at 8.30pm, the display will set off from the north outer harbour beyond the ferry steps and can be viewed from anywhere on the north or south quay.
3. Spread some festive cheer by joining the Santa Fun Run and Cycle
With a new ‘Santa vs Rudolph’ theme this year, get out those Santa suits and take part in the Santa fun run and cycle in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care. Setting off from Wadebridge to Padstow at 10am on Saturday 5th December you can take part by either walking, running or cycling. All ages are welcome so book your space now at www.padstowchristmasfestival.co.uk (spaces are limited.)
4. Get inspired by chef demos
Enjoy three and half days of inspiring chef demos delivered by the likes of Rick Stein, James Martin, Paul Ainsworth and Antony Worrall Thompson. Don’t miss out on further demos by our very own Jack Stein, Stuart Pate, Mark Puckey, Stephane Delourme, Jamie Porter, Nick Evans and Alex Clark who will all be providing cookery demonstrations throughout the festival. For a full list of the chef demos taking place in both the festival kitchen and Sharp’s chefs theatre visit www.padstowchristmasfestival.co.uk
5. Explore the Christmas market in the main marquee and enjoy some festive tastings
Discover the region’s best food, drink, arts and craft suppliers at the Christmas market. Whether you’re after a Christmas stocking filler or looking for a tasty treat, choose from the great selection on show.
