About The Seafood Restaurant

The Seafood Restaurant is where it all began for Rick Stein and Jill Stein in 1975, boasting an international reputation for serving the freshest fish and shellfish whilst gazing across the scenic Camel Estuary. Head Chef Pete Murt and our team celebrate Cornish produce, with ingredients sourced locally to create simple seafood dishes and classic flavours.

    Commis Chef Jobs

      Everyone has to start somewhere in the kitchen. This is your chance to develop your skills under the guidance of our experienced Chef de Parties, whilst getting the chance to rotate through the various sections in the kitchen including fish, vegetables and sauce. This is the perfect time to decide which area of the kitchen you’d like to specialise in.

      Progression is readily available around our restaurants, giving you the chance to experience different locations, teams, kitchens and styles of dishes to further your skill-set.

      What do I get paid?

      You’ll be paid a starting wage of £9.60 per hour, plus tips. Between May – October, our Commis Chefs earned an average of £700 per month in tips based on a 45 hour week.

        Chef de Partie Jobs

        Under the leadership of our Head Chefs, you’ll be working with the very best, locally sourced ingredients to prepare Rick’s famous dishes inspired by his travels around the world. You’ll be a crucial part of the kitchen team, leading a section during service, developing and inspiring the junior kitchen team members, whilst supporting your Head Chef to ensure that Rick’s dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests.

        What do I get paid?

        You’ll be paid a starting salary of £27,000, plus tips. Between May – October, our Chef de Parties earned an average of £700 per month in tips based on a 45 hour week.

          Pastry Chef Jobs

          Helping the team under the leadership of Head Chef Pete Murt, you’ll be an essential part of the kitchen team, helping with preparation and learning valuable skills. You will be creating delicious desserts pastry dishes, ensuring our customers finish their experience with a smile on their face. Experience isn’t necessary as we will train and support you every step of the way.

          What do I get paid?

          You’ll be paid a starting wage of £9.60 per hour, plus tips. Between May – October, our Pastry Chefs earned an average of £658 per month in tips based on a 40 hour week.

            Sous Chef Jobs

            As Sous Chef, or Assistant Head Chef, you’ll be a key senior role of the kitchen, inspiring the rest of your team. During Head Chef, Pete Murt’s days off, you will be leading the kitchen and organising the chefs under your supervision. This is your chance to really share your passion and enthusiasm for giving customers the very best seafood experience and inspiring less experienced colleagues.

            What do I get paid?

            You’ll be paid a starting salary of £30,000, plus tips. Between May – October, our Sous Chefs earned an average of £900 per month in tips based on a 45 hour week.
