Guest Services Manager in Padstow

Our Guest Services Manager, Liis, moved to London from Estonia at the age of 17 with plans to expand her foodie horizons. After a few years in the big city and taking every opportunity to learn, including graduating from Le Cordon Bleu with a diploma in Patisserie, it was time for a change. She longed to be by the famous British coast. As luck would have it, a commis pastry chef role became available at The Seafood Restaurant – and being aware of Rick’s much-loved reputation alongside her passion for all things pastry made applying a must. One successful trial later with then, and now, Head Pastry Chef, Stuart Pate, she packed her bags and moved down to Padstow and joined our team on 1st April (no joke) 2013. 18 months in the kitchen flew by and Liis decided her welcoming smile and desire to wow guests would be best suited in a more customer-facing role, so made the move across to our guest services team, which after two promotions in as many years she became manager of in 2017. Her small team work closely together to make all our rooms guests feel special, from arranging bespoke flowers on arrival to making Cornish treat sets for them to take home as a reminder of their time in Padstow.

In 2018 her hard work was rewarded when she was shortlisted for The Caterer Acorn Scholarship – which recognises the brightest prospects in the hospitality industry. When she’s not welcoming guests to Padstow she still loves to bake, so is never far from the kitchen at home in Newquay. Exploring the coast and countryside in the local area also features regularly on her days off.
