Chateau d’Yquem wine dinner at Rick Stein, Barnes

12.03.2019

We are delighted to share that a very special dinner, held on the 7th of March at Rick Stein, Barnes raised £10,000 for charity. Hosted by Rick and Charlie Stein and Jeroboams Wine Merchant, the evening was a celebration of wines from Château d’Yquem. The menu that Rick put together included Falmouth Native oysters with British charentaise sausages, turbot on the bone with Dutch sauce and lobster with Indonesian dry spice – all perfectly matched to Yquem’s beautiful wines.

Rick Stein said  “The opportunity to write a menu matched entirely by Chateau d’Yquem has been very exciting. Most people think of the most well known and expensive Sauternes as being the ultimate pudding wine, in fact though, young vintages have plenty of acidity to bring out the best in seafood. It was a wonderful evening and a rather great opportunity to raise a significant amount of money for our industry charities.”

The money raised on the night will be split between two very important hospitality industry charities that provide help and support to current and former employees of the drinks industry and their families, The Benevolent and Hospitality Action.
