Our seafood restaurant on Winchester High Street was the first Rick Stein restaurant to open outside Cornwall, bringing the very best of the Cornish coast to the heart of Hampshire. Every day, fresh fish and shellfish arrive from Cornwall for Head Chef Chris and the team to cook simply, letting exceptional ingredients speak for themselves.
Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed lunch, cocktails and seafood small plates with friends, or a memorable dinner, you’ll find an ever-changing menu inspired by the day’s catch alongside Rick’s best-loved classics, from Indonesian seafood curry to our generous fruits de mer platter.

If there’s a particular fish or shellfish you’ve been hoping to enjoy, we’d love to help. Let us know three or four days before your visit and, if it’s in season, we’ll work with our trusted suppliers to source it especially for you. Simply give our reservations team a call and we’ll do the rest.
Forgotten Fish Fridays
Fish & Chips £18
There are few pleasures more comforting than fish and chips on a Friday. But while most of us reach for cod or haddock, our waters are home to many other wonderful fish that are just as delicious. This summer, we’re celebrating some of the unsung heroes of the sea with Forgotten Fish Fridays.
Every Friday throughout June and July, we’ll swap our usual cod for a seasonal catch of the day. Each fish will be chosen according to what’s looking its best, then simply battered and fried, served with chips and mushy peas.

We believe family meals should feel like a treat, not a test. Our children’s menu is full of favourites, all £7.50, and if it’s one of those days when only a feast will do, you can add a Cawston Press juice and a scoop of Treleavens Cornish ice cream for £2.50 more.
While you settle in, we’ll bring over some complimentary hummus and colourful crudités to keep small appetites content, and there are highchairs and plenty to keep little hands busy.
Our fisherman explorer booklet invites budding young seafood fans to try something new. There are ten species to discover, from the familiar to the more surprising, with a sticky reward at the end, plus a word search and plenty of colouring-in along the way.
Dishes arrive one by one, perfect for tasting, swapping and lingering over, whether it’s briny fresh oysters, rich and smoky golden ham hock croquettes, or something entirely unexpected. Pick a few to start, raise a glass, and let the evening unfold at its own pace.
Fresh, flexible and full of flavour, our Fish Your Way menu is a fun way to dine. Choose from a daily selection of fresh fish, decide how you’d like it cooked, chargrilled, steamed, a la plancha, then pick a sauce to match your mood.

AL FRESCO DINING
Enjoy our full menu and watch the world go by at our outside tables. Open when the weather is clear, for walk-ins so stop by for a meal or a cocktail in the sun. Dogs are welcome.
Please note our outside tables are closed 3pm – 5pm on weekdays.
CELEBRATION CAKES
We love celebrating special moments with you, and if you’d like to bring your own cake, we’re happy to accommodate with a small £5 per person fee. This covers the service essentials like plating and utensils to make sure everything’s just right. Want to explore our dessert options instead? Origin Coffee: We work with Tom and the team at Origin Coffee and we’re always impressed by their unrivalled knowledge and enthusiasm for great quality coffee. Based down in the west of Cornwall, they are independently owned and bound by one central ethos – to source exceptional coffee through a sustainable approach.
Origin’s speciality coffee is made using only the top 20% of beans in the world, ensuring the very best of flavour.
Our baristas are trained to do each cup of Origin’s coffee justice, using water pressure at 9 bars and 94°C and gravity fed filter coffee. It takes 30 – 50 of the finest coffee beans to make one espresso, and we complement those mighty beans with full fat, high protein milk for a smooth full flavour. Other milk options are available, we recommend oat milk as the best alternative.
THE WINCHESTER PUDDING
Rick has created this dish based on a 1906 recipe, a steamed sponge pudding flavoured with mixed spice, orange, currants and sultanas. Grand Marnier, butterscotch sauce and Cornish clotted cream. £8.95
A £1 donation from each Winchester pudding is donated to Trinity Winchester, a local charity providing vital support to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability. They offer everything from hot meals and mental health support to housing advice and life skills training, helping people rebuild their lives and regain independence.
