Rick Stein Chef Apprenticeship

Do you love the thought of working in a kitchen, creating great food in the heart of Cornwall? Our Rick Stein Chef Apprenticeship will help guide you in the beginnings of your chef career.

Experience isn’t necessary and we’ll teach you all that you need to know in one of our kitchens in Cornwall. Earn whilst you learn from our experienced chefs and cook Rick’s famous dishes inspired by his travels around the world.

What do I get paid?

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £9.30 – £10 per hour, plus tips.


Kitchen Porter Jobs

Our Head Chef at the Seafood Restaurant, Pete Murt, started his career with us as a Kitchen Porter – so he knows exactly how to support and develop your chef career with us. 75% of our managers have been promoted from within and we want to help you fulfil your potential. We’ll invest in you.

We are looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Porters to join our friendly kitchen teams. You’ll be a crucial part of our team, keeping everything running smoothly. We have part and full time positions available with guaranteed hours, and shifts to suit your lifestyle. 

What do I get paid?

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £10.42 per hour (£9.80 for under 18s), plus tips of £2.96 per hour on average.


Commis Chef Jobs

Experience is not necessary as we will provide all the tools and training you will need, you’ll just need a willingness to learn and a passion for cooking great food.

You’ll be joining our talented kitchen brigade and working with the very best, locally sourced ingredients.

What do I get paid?

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £10.42 per hour (£9.80 for under 18s), plus tips of £2.96 per hour on average.


Chef de Partie Jobs

Chef de Parties are enthusiastic and passionate chefs who can develop their careers within our kitchens.

They are a crucial part of the kitchen team, leading a section during service, developing and inspiring the junior kitchen team members, whilst supporting your Head Chef to ensure that their dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests.

You will have the opportunity to experience each section and gain knowledge of the entire service.

What do I get paid?

You’ll be paid a starting wage of £10.60 per hour, plus tips of £3.20 per hour on average.


Sous Chef Jobs

Our second in command, Sous Chefs, are a crucial part of the site management team, leading, developing and inspiring the wider kitchen team, whilst supporting your Head Chef to ensure that Rick’s dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests. 

The sous chef fills in for the head chef when they’re on a day off, helping them to gain experience and progress into a head chef role.

What do I get paid?

You’ll be paid a starting salary of £27,000, plus tips of £3.00 per hour on average.


Head Chef Jobs

Our Head Chef is responsible for the running of the kitchen, including designing the menu alongside Rick, organising staff, liaising with suppliers and managing budgets. 

You’ll head up our talented kitchen team, leading, developing and inspiring them to ensure that Rick’s dishes, vision and desire for quality delivers a fantastic dining experience for our guests.

Our restaurants are set in superb locations, with stunning interiors designed by Jill Stein, and showcasing Rick’s iconic dishes from his popular TV programmes, with extensive wine lists exclusively chosen by Charlie Stein. 

Our standard Head Chef contract is for 45 hours over 5 days, but we are working hard to ensure that our kitchen teams achieve the perfect work life balance, and so would encourage you to let us know if you would prefer a more flexible arrangement.
