In order to avoid any confusion and misunderstandings in bookings at Rick Stein’s Cookery School, we operate under the following terms and conditions that are applicable to all courses and evening events.
Bookings for all courses and evening events can be made either through our website or over the phone with our reservations department. The fee must be paid in full at the time of booking.
We require specific details of the dietary requirements and allergies of all attendees at the time of reservation, including whether you would like to prepare and cook the dishes as scheduled and the severity of your allergies. Some courses may not be suitable for all dietary requirements and allergies and we would therefore advise you to discuss this with us in detail at the time of booking. We cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment as we run a variety of courses at Rick Stein’s Cookery School.
Payment for the amount indicated at the time of booking can be made by:
1) Selecting a course/event on our website and providing valid credit / debit card details for payment through our online payment gateway.
2) Contacting reservations on 01841 532700, and providing the details of a valid The Seafood Restaurant gift card, credit / debit card, or the serial and pin number of a valid Virgin Experience Day voucher, or Woodmansterne Five Star Days voucher.
Please note: the full payment for all courses and events is required at the time of booking.
If you do have to cancel or change the date of any booking, we will require at least four weeks notice, prior to arrival, in writing. In the unfortunate event of you having to cancel or change the date of your booking within the required four weeks of the start date, reservations reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee, amounting to the total value of your booking. Reservations will at all times endeavour to avoid cancellation fees becoming necessary by trying to re-sell the place.
Discounts are applied to bookings at the point of purchase; therefore if you request to move a discounted booking to an alternative date, an additional payment may need to be made. Discounts will be removed if you cancel or change the date of a place or places booked with a multiple purchase discount.
We would strongly recommend that you take out insurance to cover you not being able to attend or complete a course/event for any reason such as illness or travel problems. We are able to give you details of a suitable supplier. If you already have travel and holiday insurance, we would recommend that you check the policy covers you for cancellation/termination of your course/event booking.
Rick Stein’s Cookery School reserves the right, to alter the timing or content of any course/event. Although we try and minimise any repetition within the content, this cannot always be guaranteed, so we would advise you to check the recipes prior to making a booking. In circumstances where we have to cancel a course/event we will return to you all monies paid or offer an alternative course. Fees and dates are correctly quoted at the time of brochure publication and you will be notified immediately of any changes which affect your reservation.
In the interests of both hygiene and safety you are advised to wear appropriate clothing during our courses – including low-heeled, closed toe shoes with a non-slip sole (please note, sandals are not suitable). Health and safety is very important to us and, therefore, we reserve the right to refuse access to Rick Stein’s Cookery School to any person suffering symptoms of an illness that could affect the health of other students (this includes sickness and diarrhoea).
