St Petroc’s Bistro raises £5000 for Beach Guardian CIC

29.01.2019

We’re very proud to share that £5000 was raised for Padstow-based Beach Guardian CIC at our recent St Petroc’s Bistro charity lunches. The lunches, where we offered 3 courses for £15.95 plus a £2 donation to the charity, ran between Monday 5th November – Sunday 2nd December last year and brought a fab atmosphere to the restaurant.

The Beach Guardian was co-founded by father and daughter team, Rob and Emily Stevenson – pictured above with Julia and Mark, our General Manager and Head Chef at St Petroc’s Bistro, to raise awareness of unnecessary plastics, organise community beach cleans and deliver educational sessions in schools. Since becoming a CIC last spring they’ve worked really hard in the local area to gain momentum with the project, including opening their own Beach Guardian Lab in Padstow – which showcases the range of items found on beach cleans at local spots like Harlyn and Trevone (shown below) and highlights why more needs to be done to combat single use plastics.

Thank you to everyone that supported the lunches.
