Behind the food
We’re a family business. We love what we do – providing great food in great places that make people happy, all of which wouldn’t be possible without excellent local suppliers and our talented team.
Cornwall is full of fantastic produce and we make the most of it in our restaurants. As well as delivering great flavour and freshness to our dishes, it’s a pleasure to work with local businesses and it helps to cut down on food miles. Take a look at our Food Heroes for inspiration.
Sustainability, community and charity are also close to our hearts and we are committed to doing our bit to help.
Reduce, Re-use and Recycle
We try to reduce waste from our activities, we recycle where we can and our food waste is sent for energy recovery. Our staff are active in recycling and saving energy, water and materials. Rick is the patron for Clean Cornwall and our staff attend regular litter picks and beach cleans.
- We minimise food waste by re-using and planning menus to avoid waste.
- We send our farmers back their packaging to reduce their costs and impact on the environment.
We are passionate about sharing what we know about food with those around us. We work with local schools to teach healthy eating and cooking and support Padstow and St Merryn School with ingredients and the expertise of our chefs
At the heart of our charity work is our commitment to the community and supporting local causes within the South West. From offering up over 450 pasties to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care at the Padstow to Rock charity swim to raising over £30,000 each year with our charity lunches, we look to support local causes and charities.
