Seafood restaurant in the heart of Hampshire
Back in 2014 our restaurant on the high street in Winchester was our first to open outside of Cornwall. It brings touches of our heritage from of the far southwest to Hampshire with Cornish catch delivered daily that Head Chef Chris and our team cook simply to tried and tested recipes. Firm favourites include shellfish ragout, the attention-grabbing fruits de mer platter and a classic from The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, turbot hollandaise.
Being on the high street we’re open for morning coffee until late, so you can stop by whenever you please for something light, a full three course seafood experience or simply a cocktail in the bar if that’s what your day requires.
RICK STEIN’S FOOD STORIES
Rick’s latest series takes you on a culinary adventure across Great Britain. From Cumbria to Bristol and Suffolk to Belfast, he explores the diverse food and drink that people love today. The series showcases 30 dishes, two of which you’ll find on our menu…
Hake with Beer, Bacon and Cabbage
This is a tried and tested classic that Rick was inspired to bring back to the fore after a visit to a Wild Card Brewery in East London. Not known for his love of craft beer, Rick quite surprised himself during this visit and on his return to Padstow used the beer as the base of a sauce to pair with hake.
Salt Cod Fish Cakes
The delightful combination of salt cod fish cakes and a good spoonful of aioli might transport you to the Spanish coast somewhere. But no, the recipe for this fab dish was discovered near Bristol at a café called Houria during his Food Stories travels. We rather like a plate or two to share for the table as an appetiser.

Origin Coffee: We work with Tom and the team at Origin Coffee and we’re always impressed by their unrivalled knowledge and enthusiasm for great quality coffee. Based down in the west of Cornwall, they are independently owned and bound by one central ethos – to source exceptional coffee through a sustainable approach.
Origin’s speciality coffee is made using only the top 20% of beans in the world, ensuring the very best of flavour.
Our baristas are trained to do each cup of Origin’s coffee justice, using water pressure at 9 bars and 94°C and gravity fed filter coffee. It takes 30 – 50 of the finest coffee beans to make one espresso, and we complement those mighty beans with full fat, high protein milk for a smooth full flavour. Other milk options are available, we recommend oat milk as the best alternative.
